Mmmmmm September 29, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This drink reminded me of the Slim Fast pineapple orange drink I used to always get for my on the go breakfasts. I found the taste delicious and I was surprisingly satisfied after drinking. I didn't feel empty or still hungry.
I like running in the mornings but have to be careful on how much I consume before I go. Too little and I end up light headed and woozy, too much and I end up feeling like I am going to get sick. I found this to be the perfect boost/meal before my morning run.
I would definitely buy this product again and I would love to try the other flavors. Yummy!
Cherise Everhard, September 2008
the taste grows on you September 28, 2008 This product taste ok and has protein and antioxidants. I think I wouldn't mind having it on hand when I want to grab and go....but I can make a better smoothy with lots of healthy additions for less cost if I have the time...and i usually have 5 minutes.
mix1 Mango . . . mixed review September 26, 2008 I like the fact that this little bottle contains 15 grams of whey protein, along with the equivalent of 3 servings of fruits/vegetables. Being lactose-intolerant, I also appreciate the fact that it does not contain lactose. However, I'm not sure if those positives outweigh the taste and consistency of this RTD, which I did not care for. I was not able to drink the entire bottle at one sitting. I'd certainly give it a go if another flavor was available, but Mango just didn't do it for me.
Go Mango! September 25, 2008 I'm not a big fan of protein drinks. Most of them taste more of the carton than the ingredients. Mix 1 Mango was a nice surprise. The taste is refreshing. It's brighter than those same old same old chemical strawberry, banana and chocolate flavors found in most food replacement beverages. This does have that genuine Mango smack...it could have used more, but at least it's there. The label lists all the stuff in contains, which sounds quite thorough and scientific. I gather it gives you all the essentials we should get from a meal in terms of nutrition, vitamins, minerals, etc., with extra bells and whistles like anti-oxidant protection. For me,the taste was all important. I don't care how good for me the product is, if it tastes like glue, I won't drink it. This was tasty, refreshing and -- another surprise -- filling. I took the bottle to work with me, promptly forgot about it, and then one day was rooting around looking for a lunch I didn't have to go out for and re-discovered by liquid lunch. I enjoyed it, it kept me satisfied until abou 5:00 or so, when i could have used another one. Still, that's a good four or five hours without hunger pangs. If I didn't love food so much, I'd buy this stuff for the convenience.
Is that really mango? Or Just Tango? September 25, 2008 Usually anything nutritious is a warning to me, usually that it either tastes "funny" or that it's just bland. Can't say that this mix1 mango flavor is bland, but it does taste funny in a strange medicine kind of way.
I like the flavor in a "I'm thirsty, I want to keep tasting this" kind of way. This is probably a great drink for after exercising, or a replacement/snack meal if you don't have anything else as this drink has alot of protein and anti-oxidants. It's pretty good cold but nothing quite that special, not exactly like having a fresh mango and blending it and drinking it down.
A suitable substitute if you don't have time to eat fruit or just like shakes, otherwise still reminds me of a well-flavored medicine drink!
